1. About us
babyplates.co.uk is operated by Baby Plates ("we", "us"). Email: hello@babyplates.co.uk. Address for post: Baby Plates, Unit 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, IP28 7DE (correspondence only — plates are made in our Preston workshop and we can't accept visitors or collections).
2. Our products
Baby Plates are novelty keyrings styled on UK number plates. They are not number plates, are not road legal, and must not be fixed to or displayed on any vehicle. Product images and the live preview are a close representation; small variations in colour and finish are a natural part of making each plate by hand to order.
3. Personalisation
You're responsible for the text you enter. Please check spelling and spacing in the preview before ordering — we make exactly what you approve. We may refuse or cancel (with a full refund) orders containing offensive, hateful or infringing content, or text that impersonates a real organisation.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include any applicable VAT. Multi-buy prices apply to the total number of plates in one order. Discount codes can't be combined unless we say so and may have expiry dates. Payment is taken by Stripe when you place your order.
5. Your order
Your order is accepted when we send your confirmation email. If something goes wrong (for example we can't make your design), we'll contact you and refund you in full.
6. Delivery
See our delivery page. Delivery times are estimates. Risk passes to you on delivery.
7. Returns and refunds
See our returns policy. Personalised goods are exempt from the 14-day cancellation right, but your statutory rights for faulty or misdescribed goods are not affected.
8. Using your keyring
Baby Plates are made for everyday use as a keyring or bag tag. To keep yours in good shape:
- Not a toy. The keyring has small parts (split ring and chain). Keep it away from young children.
- Not a number plate. Don't fix it to, or display it on, a vehicle as a registration plate.
- Keep it out of high heat. It's made from PLA plastic, which can soften or warp if left in strong sun on a dashboard or near a heater.
- Use it as a keyring only — not as a tool or for pulling or lifting.
- Check it now and then. If the plate, chain or ring is cracked or damaged, stop using it and get in touch.
9. Our responsibility to you
If the goods we supply are faulty or not as described, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and we'll remake or refund as set out in our returns policy.
We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss or damage that wasn't foreseeable, or that is caused by:
- using the keyring in a way it isn't intended for, or not following section 8;
- changes or repairs made by anyone other than us;
- normal wear and tear, or accidental damage after delivery;
- events outside our reasonable control (for example postal strikes or severe weather).
Our products are for personal use. If you buy for business or resale, we're not responsible for loss of profit, business or opportunity. Except as set out below, our total liability for any order is limited to the price paid for that order.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for your statutory rights as a consumer, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law.
10. Car names, logos and regs
Baby Plates isn't connected with, or endorsed by, the DVLA or any vehicle manufacturer. Car makes, models and badges that appear in photos belong to their owners and are shown only to illustrate the product. You confirm you're entitled to use the registration or text you order.
11. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order applies to that order.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
